Michael Noonan is the Finance Minister and formerly Fine Gael leader. He was first elected to the Dáil in 1982 and has been returned on all nine occasions since. He has been a minister in every Fine Gael led coalition including holding the health, industry and justice portfolios. He was at the helm of the party during the disastrous 2002 election when Fine Gael suffered heavy losses. He was born in Loughill and worked as a teacher before becoming involved in politics. He spent Christmas in hospital and underwent an operation to remove fluid in his chest.He has said he wants to remain as Finance Minister if Fine Gael remain in power.

A Fianna Fáil stalwart, Willie O’Dea has been a TD in Limerick for over 30 years having first been elected in 1982. In 1992, he got his first taste of ministerial life when he became a Minister for State at the Department of Justice. He got the top job at the Department in 2004 and was in this role he was photographed controversially aiming a pistol down the camera. In 2010 he resigned as Minister following a legal case against him in Limerick. He retained his seat in 2011 and is now Fianna Fail’s spokesperson on Social Protection. He is a qualified barrister and accountant and lives in Limerick with his wife Geraldine.

Kieran O’Donnell is the nephew of former Fine Gael TD Tom and was first elected to the Dáil in 2007. He was re-elected in 2011 getting in on the fifth count. He has a background in finance having qualified as a chartered accountant and established his own practice. He was Fine Gael spokesperson for Finance until he supported the heave against Enda Kenny in 2010. He becamevice-chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee when the Coalition took office in 2011 and was a member of the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry.

When Jan O’Sullivan was first elected to the Dáil in 1992, having served as a councillor before that, she became the first female TD in Limerick since the Civil War. She did so in 1998 in a by-election following the death of her the party colleague Jim Kemmy. She was returned in the 2002, 2007 and 2011 contests and was appointed a junior minister when the current coalition took office. She was appointed Education Minister in July 2014. She was born in Co Clare but was educated in Limerick. She is a member of the Church of Ireland and is married with one daughter and one son.
