A resident of Coolquay, Ian Carey has worked as a Communications Manager for the Green Party, Irish Environmental Network and the European Environmental Bureau. His previous experiences over the past five years include working for environmental groups in Ireland and Europe. He also worked as a journalist and news editor, in addition to dealing with a range of issues such as nature protection, plastic pollution, climate change, and sustainable development. He currently works in the Communications Team of the Green Party. His vision for Swords includes better healthcare, schooling and transport facilities.

Alan Farrell has been serving as a TD for Dublin Fingal in the 32nd Dáil since 2016. He is the Chairperson of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party and the party’s Dáil spokesperson on Justice. Before being voted into the Dáil, Farrell worked in local government since 2004 before being elected as one of the youngest members of Fingal County Council at the age of 26. In 2007, he was appointed the mayor of Fingal before serving as TD for Dublin North between 2011 to 2016. He also as chair of the Committee on Children and Youth Affairs from 2016 to 2020.

Based on his website he advocates for "Irish sovereignty, personal freedoms, stricter immigration controls, housing prioritisation for Irish citizens, reduced living costs, healthcare reform, and opposition to globalist influences and extreme ideologies".

Ann Graves has represented Swords as an elected councillor since 2019. The Sinn Féin representative works closely with Louise O’Reilly TD on a number of projects trying to address issues like cost-of-living, housing and healthcare. Graves has lived in Swords for 33 years. After reclaiming her seat in Fingal County Council this year, she said to the Dublin Gazette: “It is a privilege to represent the residents of Swords and beyond, and I plan to continue to do so to the best of my ability.”

Joan Hopkins is a Councillor for Howth-Malahide on Fingal County Council and the Social Democrats candidate for Fingal East. Hopkins grew up in North County Dublin where she spent the first years of her career working in finance. In addition to being a councillor, she now also holds the role of Community Development Officer. She helped the EU’s first Seagrass Restoration project with the Marine Institute in Galway – the project aims to help protect Irish villages from the risk of flooding.

Dean Mulligan is a social care manager from The Rivervalley, Swords who was elected to Fingal County Council to represent the Swords ward. In the course of his political career, he has been involved in a number of campaigns including the Right2Water campaign, he was appointed as director of the North Dublin Regional Drug and Alcohol task force and a board member of the Dublin Dun Laoghaire Education and Training board. He has worked with former MEP Clare Daly on a series of issues including the Equality Referendum and Repeal.

Darragh O’Brien is the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage who has served since 2020. The Fianna Fáil candidate has served as a TD for Dublin Fingal since 2016, and previously for Dublin North between 2007 to 2011. Born and raised in Malahide, Co Dublin, O’Brien started out with a background in financial services. was first elected into Fingal County Council in 2004. In the 2007 general election, he was elected into Dáil Éireann and to the Seanad Éireann in 2011. During his time in the Oireachtas, he has held various titles including Vice Chair of the Public Accounts committee, member of the Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights, Leader of Fianna Fáil in the Seanad, Opposition Frontbench Spokesperson on Dublin, Foreign Affairs and Housing.

Labour politician Duncan Smith has served as a TD for the Dublin Fingal constituency since the 2020 general election. Born and raised in Finglas and Swords, he worked in financial services and academia before his political career took off. In 2014, he was elected as a County Councillor in Fingal County Council, and ran unsuccessfully in the Fingal by-election in 2019. Since being elected to the Dáil, Smith has represented the Labour Party through their COVID-19 Response Committee and the Transport & Communications Committee. He has also served as Dublin Fingal Director of Elections for Presidential, European and by-elections since 2011.
