Fine Gael
Lucan's Ms Casserly entered political life as a result of her work as a disability advocate. Ms Casserly was elected to South Dublin County Council in 2014 and has remained on the council since. The Fine Gael candidate is a mother-of-two and has previously held the role of mayor on SDCC.
The Irish People
The National Alliance candidate worked as a sole trader for Robert Coyle Transport.
Independent Ireland
Ms Decourcy is a long-time resident of Clondalkin and elected to South Dublin County Council in 2024. Ms de Courcy's campaign will focus on tackling the immigration crisis, which she describes as "out of control."
The Green Party
Green Party candidate Karla, who is from Lucan. ran in the local elections over the summer, but did not succeed. Her priorities in the general election include green spaces, public transport and active travel communities. She is an executive legal assistant with a background in charity and community work.
Independent
South Dublin County Councillor for Lucan since May 2014. Previously a Green TD for the Dublin Mid-West constituency from 2002 to 2011. He is also a musical performer.

An independent county councillor for Palmerstown, Lucan, North Clondalkin and a Peace Commissioner. He is also Deputy Mayor for South Dublin County Council.
Fine Gael
Ms Higgins is the Minister of State with responsibility for Business, Employment and Retail. She was elected TD for Dublin Mid West in the 2020 General Election, is the current equality spokesperson for Fine Gael and served as Governor of UCD from 2018 – 2023. Previously, Deputy Higgins worked as Chief of Staff for PayPal’s Customer Service division in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA),
People Before Profit-Solidarity
Gino Kenny has served as a representative over the past fifteen years. He has been fighting for public healthcare, housing rights, drug reform and workers’ rights. He was first elected in the 2009 local elections. Having been a councillor for seven years he was elected as a TD in the 2016 general election. He worked as a care worker until 2016. His family moved to Clondalkin in 1979 where he still lives.
Irish Freedom Party
A medical communications engineer who joined the party in 2023 “after witnessing rising violent crime in Dublin.” A Clondalkin native, he is a well known face around the local karate scene. He is currently a councillor in the Palmerstown Fonthill electoral area.
Fianna Fáil
Since 2019, Mr Moynihan has been a councillor for Palmerstown-Fonthill, representing communities in Lucan, Palmerstown and Clondalkin. A Lucan native, he holds a degree in Economics and Politics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics, and a PhD in Political Science from Trinity College Dublin. He is a former secretary of his local GAA club, serves on three school boards, is a director of ACE Enterprise Park in Clondalkin, and chairs the Ballyowen Community Centre board in Lucan. He is married with three boys.
Social Democrats
Social Democrats councillor Eoin O'Broin grew up in Clondalkin and attended Coláiste Chilliain, his career is in Energy Systems Modelling. He was active in the Scouts and Round Towers GAA before moving away to study and work in Limerick, Gothenburg, Geneva, and Paris. He is a trade unionist and has highlighted the issues facing workers and families since being elected to South Dublin County Council in 2019.
Sinn Féin
Mr Ó Broin is one of Sinn Féin's most prominent TDs and is the party's spokesperson for housing. He has been a Sinn Féin activist for 22 years in Belfast and Dublin, was elected to Belfast City Council between 2001 and 2004 and was a member of South Dublin County Council between 2013 and 2016 when he was elected to the Dáil. Mr O Broin is the author of a number of books. He lives in Clondalkin with his partner, Sinn Féin MEP Lynn Boylan.
Independent
He lives in Newcastle, County Dublin and is a communications executive for the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, having previously worked for EU institutions in Luxembourg. He studied History and Politics at UL.
Fianna Fáil
A longtime resident of Citywest, where she and her husband Eoin are raising their two teenagers. She is an active board member at St. Mary’s National School, a participant in the Tallaght/Citywest and Rathcoole/Saggart/Clondalkin Community Safety Forums, a member of the Tallaght Transport Committee, and a representative with the Tallaght Drugs & Alcohol Task Force.
Aontú
Born and raised in Foxborough, Quinn runs a carpentry and flooring business. He loves sport and has been involved with local GAA team Lucan Sarsfields for many years as well as local soccer teams. Originally got involved in politics as a young man working on building sites in London during the 80s.
Labour
Francis Timmons has been a councillor for 10 years and is now seeking a seat in this constituency for the Labour Party. Mr Timmons has previously been elected to South Dublin County Council as an Independent candidate. However, he says he was asked by the Labour Party to run for them in this upcoming General Election. “The history and values of the Labour Party as a progressive centre-Left party are ones I share," he said.
Sinn Féin
Mr Ward was co-opted to South Dublin County Council in 2016 when Eoin Ó Broin was elected to the Dáil. Mark went on to top the poll in the North Clondalkin, Palmerstown, Lucan ward in 2019. He was then elected in the by election in 2019 was returned in the general election of 2020 alongside Eoin Ó’Broin TD. He is a qualified behavioural therapist and specialised working with people with addiction and dual diagnosis issues. He is from Clondalkin, lives in Lucan and has three children.
